The concept of big and small family is well absorbed by Yash which was witnessed when he contributed to the discussion by saying ‘I have a small family. My mamma papa and i stay in the. ‘After having a discussion on ‘how to make and keep friends? Yash when motivated remarked, ‘I say hello and make new friends.’ the unit of inquiry çlots we wear helped Yash understood the difference and distinguish between the clothes worn in the past and present, which was reflected through his drawing.
Soft spoken Yash is gradually opening up and tries to speak when encouraged. This was witnessed when he came forward and spoke a few lines on ‘’myself’. He said, ‘’my name is Yash . I like to play with play-dough and cars.’ Yash exhibited his creative side when he coloured his favorite garment cut-out on his own which helped his display his self – management skills. This was further observed when he enthusiastically did block printing all by himself on the dupatta. A one-to one interaction during the unit of inquiry ‘families and friends’ helped Yash to know his friends in a better way and also added onto his social skills.
Remark and Suggestions
In Spite of joining the school late after summer break, he is trying his best to be at par with the other children in the class. Yash has tremendous potential in him. With a little motivation he comes forward and recites poems during circle time. Keep up the hard work!

Capable Yash could well comprehend the concepts covered in the unit ‘’tell a story’ which was indicated during a discussion on our favorite story when he said, ‘I like the story of the three little pigs because i know it nicely.’he found this unit very truly engaging and captivating. The various enactment sessions had a magnetic effect on him which was observed when he played a role of a rat in the story ‘the pied piper of Hamelin’’ this unit made him aware of different ways of telling a story. Observant Yash now know that there are different kinds of stories like fairy tales, animated stories but he showed preference to animated movies which was witnessed when he said, is like watching the story of ‘ jake and the beanstalk in the a.v. room. He knows that stories are fun and can be narrated by different people like parents, teachers, friends, and seniors students. He also knows that the stories can be made interesting with the use of appropriate props and actions. During the unit of inquiry ‘’food from earth his knowledge regarding the variety of fruits and vegetables widened when he made a visit to Spencers. During a talk on the importance of eating healthy food, Yash realized the benefits of eating nutritious food when he said, we must eat healthy food to grow tall and strong and get energy strong and grow tall,’through this unit, he was able to identify fruits and vegetables through their form and colour and also learnt that different fruits and vegetables grow on different bushes, trees creepers and underground.

This was observed when he spoke a line on his favorite fruit where he said,’i like to eat mango because it is sweet and juicy.’ he has shown improvement in his ability to express himself and is able to project himself in front of the class with confidence.
Yash found the trip to Spencer mall educative. He was delighted to see a variety of fruits and vegetables available. His commitment towards healthy eating habit also comes across during breakfast time. He relishes the food served and eats without a fuss. He has also learnt that all fruits and vegetables have nutritive value and must be eaten.He is striving to be a good communicator. He is encouraged was given a wide range of opportunities in the form of Storytelling and Show and Tell activities to enhance his communication skills. He is slowly learning to overcome his shyness and express himself in English which was evident when he recited a poem on Goldilocks and the three bears enthusiastically. His thinking and creative skills came forth when he got the opportunity to create a story of his own and named it “Three Bears and Three Pigs. Further if was observed when he painted a dinner plate and stuck his favourite vegetable cutouts and fruit cutouts on it which also enhanced his self management skills.
Remark and Suggestions
Good listener Yash, eagerly attempts assignments even though he can’’ always understand them. He has gradually opened Up but there are times when he is very shy and hesitate to ask for help. As he gains more language we hope he will feel more comfortable to ask for help. friendly and co operative Yash has acquired many friends through his positive attitude and cheerful manner. We wish him all the very best in his journey a new. Promoted to Kindergarten-A

Yash has successfully imbibed the concepts covered in the class. He could comprehend that people use different materials and resources to express their feelings and ideas Yash says, “Wood is hard and cloth is soft.” Now Yash is aware of the fact that the properties of a material decide its functions. He states, “Cloth is soft so we can stitch and wear them.” And, “Table is hard so we can keep a heavy thing like computer on it.” During the discussion after witnessing an experiment which strengthened his knowledge that plastic is water resistant he concluded, “We bring water in plastic bottles as it is water resistant.” Yash has perceived the concept that water on the planet earth is shared by all living things and we should be committed to save and respect it.He added to the conversation that, “if we waste water the land will be dry and we will not get water to drink after some years.He could comprehend the fact that water sustains and generates life as he very wisely quotes, “All animals and plants need water ,so we need to save water.” He tried to comprehend the concepts taught during the unit on safety. He showed his responsible behavior while adding a band aid in the first aid box of the class and said, “We have to put band aid or medicine when anyone gets hurt.” While discussion on strangers he added, “We should not open the door for strangers when alone.”
He continued to expand his awareness about these units through various experiments and projects, which stimulated his thinking skills and helped in further acquisition of knowledge. His reflections on the various experiments are the evidence of his fine observation skills. He works well in groups, planning and carrying out activities and is enthusiastic about participating. He developed his social skills while collaborating and cooperating with his friends to make a collage on water animals, water transport and unsafe objects. His practical knowledge on the creative use of different materials was enhanced through pottery making and tie and dye activity. He making chocolate balls in the home science lab which was praiseworthy. Yash could enhance his self management skills as now he is aware of how to be safe and not touch any unsafe or sharp object. His organization and time management capacity was observed when he made a booklet on expressions, where he tried to express his feelings and emotions. Communication skills of Yash were visible during the front desk programme where he confidently shared in front of the guests to be safe in the house and shared with them , “We should not jump on furniture in the house or put our fingers in the electrical socket.”
Remark and Suggestions
Yash is a soft spoken boy who participates in all the activities done in the class. He is a gentle, considerate and confident child with a cooperative and responsible nature. He concentrates well on his work and completes the entire task given to him enthusiastically. His knowledge of phonetics is clear as a result he is able to relate the sounds to form three letter words with ease. He has understood the concept of greater and less than and enjoys his number work. He takes a keen interest in all classroom activities and is a willing worker. He listens attentively to discussions and tries to respond with relevant comments, questions or actions. He enjoys all aspects of physical training immensely and takes an active part in all the activities. He is an independent child and has maintained a strong effort and can work with minimal direction. He works well with his classmates and has a pleasant disposition.

Yash has comprehended that people all over the world rejoice for different reasons and in many ways. He understands how the times have changed and so have the ways in which we celebrate occasions. He said, “My grandparents went to the temple and prayed on their birthdays.” He enjoyed playing the games of olden times enthusiastically and comprehended that with time the ways of rejoicing are changing. He also said during passing the ball activity. “I rejoice when I play with my friends.” He could reflect well and shared with his friends that his favourite toy is a monkey which is very soft and has a long tail, two legs and hands. He now understands that small things also give us a reason to rejoice and be happy like coming to school in coloured clothes. Yash displayed good understanding of the fact that schools are organized to help us learn and live together, as he added to the conversation, “Schools are organized so we can become knowledgeable and share our things.” He further showed his responsible behavior when he said, “We need to organize our daily lives so that all our work is finished on time.” His perspective was highlighted while making a booklet which reflected different areas of school and important people doing jobs in it. His spatial awareness was exhibited while taking a school round and reflecting it beautifully through drawings. He displayed his curiosity and enthusiasm while the school librarian and the computer expert guided him about the way a library and a computer lab works. Yash is aware that living things go through changes and they have life cycles. He is also clear, “Living things can grow, feel, breathe and they can reproduce.” He understood, “When we water comes on it a root and then a shoot comes out of a seed, which grows into a big plant.” During the germination activity he could see the change which occurs in a seed to become a plant and he said, “A seed needs water, air and sunlight to grow into a big plant and then give us fruits and flowers.” Yash also developed curiosity during the unit on life cycles where he tried to satisfy his curiosity by asking various questions like, “From where does a plant come? How is a butterfly made?” All his queries were satisfied through power point presentation, books, puzzles and diagrams etc. PowerPoint presentation on the life cycle of a plant and butterfly clearly made him connect how one stage leads to another. He very well explained the life span of different living beings during oral presentation the seed and sunlight.
Yash tried to develop self-management skills which was evident when he organized all his worksheets properly in folders and understood the importance of being organized. He developed research skills within himself when he discovered various buildings he comes across on his way to school. He also enhanced his communication skills when he did a beautiful presentation on school and shared with his friends about various activities and different areas of his school. He managed to display his self management skills and improve upon his fine motor skills during a Cut and paste activity’ where he associated different jobs that people do with the relevant pictures. Yash displayed his budding social skills when he collaborated with his friends to make a dream school and named it as ‘The Sun School’. Yash is developing his self-management skills by doing his work independently. This was evident when he insisted upon putting his notebooks back in the bag himself or files his worksheet neatly all by himself. He enhanced his thinking skills during the unit on life cycles when he got the opportunity to explain the life Cycle of a butterfly and its stages to his peer group. He even shared with his friends, “I want to be an officer when I grow up and earn money while working on the computer.” He is a good listener and follows instructions given in the class. He gives views and ideas during the classroom discussions. A day out from school to Aapno Ghar and botanical garden along with his friends gave him an opportunity to interact and further develop social skills. He has shown good thinking skills which he showed by being reflective during the nature walk and differentiating between living and nonliving things around him. He was also given the opportunity to enhance his communication skills during oral presentation on ‘My school’, My growth’ and while sharing the information gathered from their parents and grandparents about the way they celebrated birthdays in the past. Curious Yash continued to expand his awareness about these units through various excursions and projects, which stimulated his thinking skills and helped in further acquisition of knowledge. His reflections are the evidence of his fine observation skills. He works well in groups, planning and carrying out activities and is enthusiastic about participating in all classroom activities. He inculcated the attitude of empathy while listening to the story of three butterflies, and taking a personal pledge to respect and care for all living beings. Getting pictures and information on different schools to make a collage further enhanced his social skills. His creativity was enhanced when he made beautiful cards, rangoli, flags and caterpillar in the classroom.
Remark and Suggestions
Capable Yash has good grasping power. He is an obedient and sincere child; He is social and well liked by his peers. He shows respect to the facilitators. He is a well mannered and polite child. He has a good understanding of the entire math concepts taught so far. He tries to read three letter words in English by making use of his phonic skills. He is able to write Hindi letters in correct formation and within the lines. Recognition of Hindi letters enables him to read two letter words. He shows a keen interest in listening to the stories and reciting the poems that are taught during circle time. He participated with enthusiasm in sports day, morning assembly, Christmas and Children’s Day celebrations. He displayed confidence in himself during the Graduation ceremony of Kindergarten. He displayed self confidence and participated with zeal in the Bengali dance on the Annual day. It is a pleasure to see Yash slowly and steadily blooming into well balanced and open minded child.
